Position Overview

We are seeking a highly capable and independent Compliance & Ethics Officer to join our regional headquarters in Shanghai. This role is split between leading end-to-end internal compliance investigations and managing Anti-Bribery & Anti-Corruption (ABAC) programs across Greater China, while providing strategic compliance advisory to senior business stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities

1. Internal Investigations (50%)
   1. Independently manage the complete, end-to-end internal investigation lifecycle, including allegation assessment, fact-finding, witness interviews, evidence review, report drafting, and oversight of corrective action plans.
   2. Handle complex, sensitive cases involving senior personnel or tough interviewees with composure, tact, and objective judgment.
2. Anti-Bribery & Anti-Corruption Projects (50%)
   1. Drive regional ABAC/FCPA compliance initiatives, anti-corruption risk assessments, monitoring activities, and internal control evaluations.
   2. Develop and deliver targeted compliance training programs and communications to foster an ethical business culture across all business units.
3. Advisory & Capability Expansion
   1. Provide practical compliance advice to business partners, ensuring alignment with Greater China regulations as well as applicable US/EU legal frameworks.
   2. Proactively expand capabilities into emerging compliance domains as required by the business (e.g., export controls, trade sanctions, and responsible business practices).

Qualifications & Requirements

1. Education: Bachelor’s degree or above (preferably in Law or related disciplines) from a top-tier university (985/211 or overseas equivalent). Compliance/Legal certifications are a plus.
2. Experience: 7+ years of dedicated compliance experience within reputable multinational corporations (MNCs) or international financial institutions.
3. Core Competencies:
   1. Proven track record of independently leading complex internal investigations from intake to remediation.
   2. Deep knowledge of regional ABAC laws, FCPA, UK Bribery Act, and cross-border MNC compliance frameworks.
   3. High level of professional curiosity, sharp analytical mindset, and proven methodology for uncovering facts and subtle clues.
4. Communication & Resilience: Exceptional English and Mandarin communication skills (written and spoken). Highly resilient, composed, and confident when engaging with high-level executives.
