About the Team
You will be a key member of the China Marketing Team, responsible for developing and implementing the brand's music and cultural strategy in China. The team focuses on establishing the brand's cultural credibility in Greater China by connecting with key audiences through authentic music projects and community initiatives. You will report directly to the China Marketing Manager (based in Shenzhen, China). The role is based in Shanghai, China, and requires frequent travel to key music cities.
About the Job
Lead the Music Strategy: Develop and execute the China Music Strategy, defining focus areas in key cities to ensure deep brand integration with the local music scene.
Manage Artist Relations & Cultural Network: Be responsible for artist liaison, identifying high-profile local musician endorsement opportunities; maintain and expand the local music and cultural network, building strong relationships with the local music industry (e.g., artists, record labels, venues).
Support Product & Content: Promote the amplifier category, supporting MI (Music Instruments) product launches and related activities; lead music production and live performances related to events.
Community Project Management: Plan and execute local community activities and projects, inspiring and empowering the next generation of musicians.
Cultural Insight: Utilize keen knowledge of Chinese music, nightlife, arts, fashion, and culture to drive strategic decisions and content direction.
Skills and Experience Required
Experience: Minimum 6 years of experience in artist/community management or within music and cultural teams. Experience in planning music or cultural strategy is required.
Cultural Insight: Possess a keen and deep understanding of Chinese music, nightlife, arts, fashion, and culture.
Industry Preference: Prior experience with record labels, venues, music festivals, or cultural institutions is highly valued.
Core Capabilities:
Network: Possess strong artist and local community connections, and a deep understanding of the Chinese music landscape.
Communication: Strong storytelling experience, with the ability to translate music and cultural events into compelling brand narratives.
Project Management: Proven professional project management capabilities, capable of coordinating cross-functional teams and external partners.
Language: Working proficiency in Mandarin (Putonghua) is preferred.
