Key Responsibilities
- Responsible for the mechanical and component design process, from conceptualization to detailed solutions.
- Create high-quality 3D models based on concept designs.
- Collaborate closely with the virtual analysis team; improve designs according to FEA results to meet all functional requirements.
- Select geometric dimensioning and tolerancing and perform tolerance stack-up analysis.
- Understand cost structures of components and take responsibility for cost-reduction design initiatives.
- Produce detailed 2D drawings in accordance with company standards.
- Maintain technical documents within the PLM system on a regular basis.
- Strictly adhere to all product development processes.
- Assist internal clients in resolving PLM system-related issues.
- Review and check drawings as requested by the product department.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree or above in Mechanical Design or a related field.
- More than 5 years of experience in mechanical design.
- Familiarity with the manufacturing processes of relevant components, including sheet metal and welded structures.
- Proficient in sheet metal design, 3D modeling, and 2D drawing.
- Skilled in using PLM systems.
- Proficient in industry-standard 3D modeling and analysis software.
- Strong communication and teamwork skills.
- Excellent command of English, both written and verbal.
- Fluent in Japanese, with spoken Japanese sufficient for workplace communication (N2 or above preferred).
- Self-motivated, able to manage projects independently and ensure project objectives are achieved.
