Key Responsibilities
- Manage the legal function for the local legal entity, ensuring alignment with the corporate legal strategy.
- Provide legal advice on commercial, corporate, and regulatory matters.
- Oversee the drafting, negotiation, and review of complex contracts and legal documents.
- Ensure compliance with applicable laws, regulations, and internal policies.
- Support the resolution of legal disputes and manage litigation in coordination with external legal counsel.
- Develop and implement legal policies, procedures, and training programs.
- Collaborate with internal stakeholders to support business initiatives and manage legal risks.
- Monitor legal and regulatory developments and assess their impact on the organization.
- Lead, mentor, and develop external legal service providers.
Skills & Qualifications
- Typically a University degree (or equivalent work experience) and 8+ years of relevant work experience are minimally required.
- Qualified to practice law in China.
- Strong experience in corporate and commercial law, with a focus on contract law and compliance.
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and stakeholder engagement abilities.
- Ability to manage complex legal issues and provide strategic legal advice.
- High ethical standards and sound legal judgment.
- Experience in a multinational or matrixed organization and industries such as oil and gas, power generation, mining, chemicals, and water is preferred.
