PR Strategy Development & Execution: Devise and implement a comprehensive China PR strategy and yearly plan aligned with global and local marketing objectives.
Media & Networking Management: Maintain, expand, and leverage a strong, established network across Tier 1 and relevant industry media (music, lifestyle, tech, and retail) to ensure high-quality and consistent brand coverage.
Agency Management: Oversee and manage local PR agencies to ensure the consistent and effective execution of PR activities, maximizing media coverage and ROI.
Social Media Relationship Management: Proactively manage all social media relationships and key opinion leaders (KOLs)/influencers to drive brand advocacy and authentic engagement.
Ambassador & Endorser Programs: Identify, onboard, and manage local brand ambassadors and endorsers to amplify Marshall’s reach and credibility.
Product & Tech Reviews: Drive the process for securing high-profile technology and product reviews across relevant media and digital platforms.
PR Campaigns & Workshops: Lead the planning and execution of public relations events, product launches, press workshops, and media/influencer experience events.
Crisis Communications: Monitor the social media landscape and media environment, proactively handling and mitigating potential brand crises in coordination with the relevant teams.
Retail Support: Strategically support new store openings and major retail initiatives with impactful PR activities.
Key Sponsorships: Support and promote involvement in key Chinese sports, music, and cultural movements.
skills and experience required.
Experience: Minimum of 10 years of progressive experience in Public Relations, Communications, or a related field, preferably within the consumer electronics, lifestyle, or audio industry.
Market Expertise: Exceptional and in-depth understanding of the Shanghai and broader China media landscape, including traditional, digital, and social media ecosystems (WeChat, Weibo, Little Red Book, Douyin, etc.).
Networking Strength: Demonstrated history of building and maintaining a very strong, relevant networking resource with top-tier media and KOLs in China.
Communication & Language: Excellent command of English (both written and spoken) is mandatory for global communication. Native Mandarin proficiency is required.
Stakeholder Management: Proven ability to manage multiple external agencies and internal stakeholders across different regions (China and HQ).
Brand Alignment: A keen understanding and appreciation for the brand, with a genuine passion for music, culture, and the lifestyle it represents is a significant plus.
