suppliers to negotiating, quality control and performance monitoring, ensuring the reduction of costs, risks and continuous improvement of the Asian supply chain.
3. Responsibilities
• Strategic sourcing: mapping the market by product category and identifying potential suppliers in China using trade shows, databases, and local network.
• Assessment and audit: Conduct on-site visits and full audits of potential suppliers using standard company checklist. Prepare risk assessment reports (quality, compliance, continuity) with recommendations.
• Negotiation: negotiate commercial terms (prices, terms, payment terms) and quality clauses/framework agreement, aligned with objectives set by AJUSA Spain.
• Quality assurance at origin: define and implement pre-shipment inspection plans for new suppliers. Coordinate and validate inspection reports. Manage non-conformities with the Quality Department.
• Supplier onboarding and development: manage the formal incorporation of suppliers (registration in the system, master data) and provide continuous support in logistics, documentation and incidents.
• Monitoring and Reporting: continuously monitoring the performance of suppliers. Report weekly to the Director of Purchasing and make quarterly visits to Spain for review of results and planning.
4. Working plan and phases
• Phase 0 / Incorporation: intensive training in products, quality standards, purchasing policies and systems of the AJUSA in Spain. Establishment of a plan of priority categories and objectives.
• Phase 1 / Exploration: active search and audits of suppliers in priority categories. Initial negotiations and approval of a first block of suppliers.
• Phase 2 / Consolidation: concentration of volumes in the best performing suppliers. Negotiation of framework agreements and implementation of standard inspection plans. Optimization of the supplier base.
5. Requirements
• Education: Industrial Technical Engineering preferred.
• Experience: Minimum of 3 years of experience in international purchasing or sourcing positions, with demonstrated and recent experience in direct supplier management in China. Experience in supplier audits and quality control at source.
• Languages: Fluent English (essential for internal communication and reporting). Other languages, such as Spanish, are valuable.
• Competencies: Proactive, autonomous person, with strong analytical and negotiation skills. Excellent cross-cultural communication and project management skills. Residency in Asia (China) and frequent travel (50-60%).
