The client is an early-stage company backed by leading investors and experienced biotech executives.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Lead the expression, purification, and characterization of antibody-based therapeutics (monospecifics, bispecifics, Fc fusions, and conjugates).
2. Drive innovation in biologics production — including heterodimerization control, conjugation (enzymatic, click, or linker-based), and modular payload formats (peptide, oligo, or protein).
3. Build and oversee robust workflows for high-throughput protein production, analytical and developability characterization, integrating automation and informatics where appropriate.
4. Apply biophysical, biochemical, and structural analyses (e.g., HPLC, MS, BLI, DSC, DSF, ITC, SPR, ELISA, CE-SDS) to ensure optimal developability and stability of molecules.
5. Partner with CMC, toxicology, and translational functions to progress molecules toward IND enabling studies. • Establish and manage productive relationships with CROs and CDMOs for antibody discovery, characterization, and manufacturing.
6. Identify and integrate emerging technologies (e.g., AI-driven design, machine learning-guided developability prediction, or microfluidics-based screening) to strengthen BraneX’s platform.
7. Mentor and grow a high-performing Protein Sciences team while fostering scientific rigor, collaboration, and innovation.
8. Ensure strong documentation and data integrity (ELN/SOP discipline) in support of IP, regulatory filings, and data room readiness.
Minimum Qualifications:
1. PhD in Biochemistry, Molecular Biology, Structural Biology, or related field.
2. ≥10 years of postdoctoral experience, including ≥5 years in a biotech or pharma setting with demonstrated impact in biologics discovery or engineering.
3. Deep expertise in antibody and bispecifics expression, purification, and characterization; proven track record of advancing biologics toward development candidates.
4. Demonstrated experience with biophysical and biochemical methods supporting protein stability, binding, and developability.
5. Experience balancing internal and outsourced workflows and managing cross-functional scientific projects.
6. Strong leadership, communication, and mentoring skills, with the ability to inspire a multidisciplinary team in a fast-paced startup environment.
7. Strong ELN/SOP discipline and data-driven mindset.
