Role Overview:
We are seeking an experienced Procurement Manager based in China to manage the sourcing, purchasing, and logistics of spare parts and equipment required for our oil terminal operations in Indonesia. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in procurement within the oil & gas or related heavy industry, excellent networks with Chinese manufacturers and suppliers, and proven expertise in international logistics.
Key Responsibilities:
- Sourcing & Procurement
- Identify and engage with reputable Chinese manufacturers and suppliers for oil terminal spare parts, equipment, and industrial materials.
- Negotiate contracts, prices, and delivery terms to ensure cost efficiency and timely supply.
- Ensure supplier compliance with company quality standards, technical specifications, and international regulations.
- Logistics & Supply Chain Management
- Coordinate international shipping and customs clearance of goods from China to Indonesia.
- Optimize transportation methods to balance cost, speed, and reliability.
- Liaise with freight forwarders, customs agents, and logistics providers to ensure smooth delivery.
- Vendor & Relationship Management
- Build and maintain strong, long-term relationships with suppliers, manufacturers, and logistics partners in China.
- Continuously expand supplier network to secure competitive pricing and reliable sources.
- Evaluate supplier performance, monitor delivery schedules, and manage risk of supply disruptions.
- Collaboration & Reporting
- Work closely with the Procurement and Operations teams in Indonesia and Singapore to understand requirements and priorities.
- Provide regular updates on procurement activities, cost savings, and delivery timelines.
- Support budgeting, cost control, and procurement strategy alignment with company goals.
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Procurement, Engineering, Business, or related field.
- Minimum 10 years of experience in procurement for oil & gas, energy, or heavy industrial sectors.
- Strong network of Chinese suppliers and manufacturers relevant to oil terminal spare parts and equipment.
- Solid knowledge of international trade, import/export regulations, and logistics between China and Southeast Asia.
- Proven negotiation, contract management, and vendor relationship skills.
- Ability to work independently with cross-border teams and manage multiple priorities.
- Fluent in Mandarin and English (written and spoken).
- Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in sourcing oil terminal or refinery-specific equipment (e.g., pumps, valves, piping, instrumentation).
- Familiarity with HS codes, INCOTERMS, customs documentation, and shipping practices.
- Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to manage procurement risks proactively.
