Job Summary:
We are seeking a visionary and dynamic Head of Auto Design Studio to lead our automotive design team in creating innovative, cutting-edge vehicle concepts that align with our brand identity and market demands. The ideal candidate will combine creative excellence with strategic leadership, overseeing the entire design process from initial sketches to production-ready models. This role requires a deep understanding of automotive trends, user experience, and manufacturing feasibility while fostering a culture of creativity and collaboration.
Key Responsibilities:
- Design Leadership: Define and drive the design vision, language, and strategy for current and future vehicle programs.
- Team Management: Lead, mentor, and inspire a multidisciplinary team of designers (exterior, interior, color & trim, UX/UI, and digital modeling).
- Concept Development: Oversee the creation of sketches, 3D models, prototypes, and production designs, ensuring alignment with brand DNA and market trends.
- Cross-functional Collaboration: Work closely with engineering, marketing, and R&D teams to balance design aesthetics, functionality, and manufacturability.
- Innovation & Trends: Stay ahead of industry trends, emerging technologies (e.g., electrification, autonomous driving), and materials to integrate into design solutions.
- Stakeholder Engagement: Present design proposals to senior leadership and external partners, incorporating feedback into the development process.
- Process Optimization: Streamline design workflows, tools, and technologies to enhance efficiency and creativity.
- Budget & Timeline Management: Ensure projects are delivered on time, within scope, and meet quality standards.
Qualifications & Skills:
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Automotive Design, Industrial Design, Transportation Design, or a related field.
- 10+ years of automotive design experience, with at least 5 years in a leadership role at premium OEM brands or design studio.
- Exceptional portfolio showcasing expertise in exterior/interior design, concept development, and production vehicles.
- Proficiency in design tools (e.g., Alias, Photoshop, VRED, Blender) and knowledge of CAS/Digital Modeling.
- Strong understanding of manufacturing processes (stamping, molding, etc.) and engineering constraints.
- Ability to translate market research and brand strategy into compelling design solutions.
- Excellent communication, presentation, and stakeholder management skills.
- Passion for automotive culture, sustainability, and future mobility trends.
Preferred Attributes:
- Experience with high-end/premium electric vehicle (EV) design and human-centric UX/UI integration.
- Global perspective with experience working in multicultural design environments.
- Fluency in multiple languages is a plus.
