We are searching for an accomplished IP professional to join this critical in-house legal function and manage a complex and valuable IP portfolio.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and provide counsel on IP strategy and filings, particularly concerning small molecule patent filings.
- Offer corporate-level legal and regulatory support for the comprehensive IP portfolio, including patents, trademarks, trade secrets, and domain names.
- Draft, review, and negotiate various day-to-day contracts and documents, ensuring robust IP protection is embedded.
- Monitor legal and regulatory changes, specifically within the IP field, and advise management while helping to establish necessary standard operating procedures (SOPs).
- Provide essential legal support for the group's corporate transactions and deal-making activities.
- Manage and supervise external counsel to ensure high-quality advice and service delivery on IP matters.
Desired Experience and Qualifications
- A minimum of 6 to 8 years of dedicated IP practice experience gained at highly regarded law firms and/or leading healthcare companies.
- General corporate experience supporting large pharma, biotech, or technology companies, particularly in patent filing and IP portfolio management, is essential.
- Required academic background includes a bachelor’s degree in Chemistry or Biology or an LLB from an accredited school.
- Possession of a Patent Agent qualification or PRC Bar license is a prerequisite.
- Demonstrated superior abilities in analytical thinking, problem-solving, and legal writing in both English and Chinese.
