Core Responsibilities
Legal Strategy & Architecture: Build and maintain the company’s legal infrastructure, including contract templates, compliance policies, and corporate governance protocols.
Commercial Transactions: Independently draft, review, and lead negotiations for complex commercial contracts, licensing agreements, and strategic partnerships.
Corporate & Fundraising: Manage corporate secretarial matters and provide end-to-end legal support for financing rounds, M&A activities, and ESOP administration.
Regulatory & Compliance: Monitor the evolving regulatory landscape (e.g., Data Privacy, Labor Law, Industry-specific regs) and ensure proactive business alignment.
External Counsel Management: Select and supervise outside counsel for specialized matters (litigation, tax, overseas expansion) to ensure cost-effectiveness and quality.
Business Partnership: Serve as a trusted advisor to the leadership team, providing risk-adjusted legal advice that enables—rather than hinders—business growth.
Key Requirements
Educational Background: LL.B. or LL.M. from a top-tier law school. Admission to the PRC Bar is required (US/UK Bar admission is a significant plus).
The "Red Circle" Pedigree: Initial training (2–4 years) at a leading Red Circle law firm. We value the rigorous drafting skills and "extreme ownership" mindset developed in these environments.
In-house Experience: A minimum of 3 years of in-house experience within a fast-paced corporate environment or a multinational corporation (MNC).
Total Experience: 5–8 years of post-qualification experience (PQE).
Language Skills: Near-native fluency in English and Mandarin (written and spoken) is non-negotiable, as you will handle complex cross-border documentation.
Soft Skills: A "can-do" attitude with the ability to simplify complex legal concepts for non-legal stakeholders. You must be comfortable working as a "unit of one" while maintaining high standards.
