Key Responsibilities
- Provide end-to-end legal support for day-to-day commercial operations and transactions, including drafting, reviewing, and negotiating a wide range of commercial agreements and legal documentation.
- Manage and advise on commercial disputes, potential litigation, external investigations, and advertising/commercial communication reviews.
- Drive and enforce core compliance frameworks across assigned business units, covering Ethics & Compliance, Anti-Bribery/Anti-Corruption (FCPA/PRC Anti-Unfair Competition), Competition & Antitrust Law, and Data Privacy/Protection.
- Oversee routine third-party due diligence and know-your-counterparty (KYC) workflows to safeguard business operations.
- Proactively identify emerging legal and operational risks; propose, implement, and monitor preventative and corrective action plans.
- Track regulatory changes, policy shifts, and judicial trends impacting corporate and cross-border commercial operations; translate regulatory updates into actionable business guidance.
- Design and deliver interactive legal and compliance training sessions to enhance risk awareness among internal stakeholders.
- Support broader regional/global legal initiatives and handle specialized tasks assigned by the Senior Legal Counsel.
Requirements
- Master’s Degree in Law (LL.M. / J.D.) from a top-tier Chinese or reputable international law school.
- PRC Bar qualification is mandatory.
- 3–5 years of post-qualification legal experience gained from a reputable international/tier-1 domestic law firm and/or a multinational corporation (MNC).
- A hybrid background combining top-tier law firm training and in-house corporate legal experience is highly preferred.
- Prior hands-on experience handling compliance programs, corporate governance, cross-border transactions, or intellectual property matters will be a distinct advantage.
- Commercial Drafting & Negotiation: Solid foundational skills in bilingual contract review, risk identification, and commercial problem-solving.
- Ownership & Judgment: Ability to operate independently, exercise sound legal judgment under pressure, and manage end-to-end legal matters with minimal supervision.
- Communication & Influencing: Strong interpersonal, communication, and stakeholder management skills; capable of navigating sensitive or difficult conversations constructively.
- Attention to Detail: Rigorous attention to detail and high ethical standards.
- Language Proficiency: Full professional fluency in written and spoken English and Mandarin.
