Role Purpose
The Senior Training Manager acts as the strategic architect of the brand’s educational ecosystem. You will lead the development of a global/regional training strategy that synchronizes technical product excellence with a high-performance retail culture. Your goal is to ensure that the brand’s technical superiority is translated into an unparalleled consumer experience through highly skilled and inspired retail teams.
Key Responsibilities
1. Strategic Training Architecture (30%)
Holistic Strategy: Design and oversee the long-term training roadmap, aligning educational initiatives with the brand’s five-year business goals and seasonal marketing beats.
Standardization: Establish "Gold Standard" service and technical training protocols to be scaled across all retail channels (Flagships, Outlets, and Wholesale).
LMS & Digital Transformation: Lead the implementation and optimization of Digital Learning Management Systems to ensure 24/7 accessibility for a decentralized workforce.
2. Technical & Performance Leadership (30%)
Advanced Product Education: Overhaul technical modules focusing on advanced textile sciences (membrane technologies, sustainable insulation, ergonomic construction) and specific outdoor sport requirements (e.g., alpinism, trail running).
Sustainability Advocacy: Integrate the brand’s circularity and ESG commitments into core training, turning frontline staff into authentic sustainability ambassadors.
Competitive Intelligence: Conduct deep-dive workshops on industry trends and competitor technologies to empower staff with objective, expert-level comparison skills.
3. Talent Development & Coaching Culture (25%)
Leadership Development: Create "High-Potential" programs for Store Managers and District Managers, focusing on emotional intelligence, operational excellence, and team retention.
Field Capability Building: Oversee a regional team of trainers (if applicable), providing them with mentorship and ensuring high-quality delivery across all territories.
Service Rituals: Refine the "Premium Guest Experience" for the outdoor sector, emphasizing community building and expert-to-expert consultation.
4. Business Impact & Analytics (15%)
ROI Measurement: Define Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) for training impact, such as the correlation between training completion and Conversion, Units Per Transaction (UPT), and staff turnover rates.
Strategic Feedback Loop: Partner with Product and Merchandising heads to relay frontline consumer insights, directly influencing future design and assortment strategies.
Candidate Profile
Experience: 8+ years of progressive experience in Training/L&D, with at least 3 years in a senior leadership role within Outdoor, Sports Performance, or Premium Retail.
Educational Background: Master’s or Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or Education.
Outdoor Credibility: A profound personal connection to the outdoors; ability to speak the language of the technical consumer with authenticity.
Strategic Vision: Proven ability to move between high-level strategy and "on-the-floor" execution.
Global Mindset: Experience working in a matrix organization or supporting diverse regional markets.
