Role Purpose
Responsible to decide what, when and where to produce and distribute for one production site, multiple production sites, or multiple plants/distribution sites, covering multiple value centers. This includes balancing supply and demand over a daily or monthly planning horizon, to achieve optimum product availability, asset utilization and supply chain efficiencies. Plant/warehouse locations will be in Asia Pacific region, with sourcing from a number of plants globally.

Main Accountabilities

Manage the Plan:
Lead, develop, decide, communicate and implement tactical plans across the assigned plants – while maintaining strong linkage into Plants to ensure conformance to schedule and drive labor / capacity plans, and into Areas to secure customer service delivery.
Develop plans to support new item introductions, ensuring product availability for all customers, as well as item discontinuations, mitigating product obsolescence.
Determine and/or execute the most effective regional or global sourcing rules.
Ensure that strategic and tactical business decisions are made with a full and integrated understanding of current and future supply chain capabilities, potential impacts to service, cost, working capital and sustainability, and effective risk management/mitigation.
Identify capability requirements to meet current and future business/customer needs and collaborate with service providers to secure these capabilities.
Where applicable, develop exchange, swap and toll agreements, or execute agreements already in place.
Manage significant capacity challenges across all country markets in region and lead communication to business contacts across impacted countries with focus of long-term supply strategy.
Act as a business focal point on feedstock supply from other businesses.

Managing Working Capital:
Manage and own inventory levels to target expectations and customer service availability agreements.
Establish safety stock targets and manage supply plans against those targets.
Ensure that decisions requiring trade-offs maximize value to the business (e.g., reduced inventory versus additional freight cost and/or lost sales, plant downtime versus volume variance, and smaller production batches versus higher conversion cost).
Set up long-term inventory target and optimize supply strategy within APAC.

Integrated Business Planning
Support preparation for the Supply Review by running and reviewing appropriate reports/KPIs and dashboards, to ensure a productive discussion and IBP process.
Build scenarios of production and supply chain capabilities and limitations.
Maintain strong linkages with Demand Manager and ensure full integration with Finance and Accounting.

Issue Resolution:

Own supply-demand balance for assigned desk, drive resolution of strategic gaps, and develop sourcing strategies.
Manage significant capacity challenges across all country markets in the region and lead communication to business contacts across impacted countries.
Monitor actual performance versus plan and engage cross-functional efforts to resolve non-compliance
Resolve issues or exceptions outside the business rules/boundaries and intervene when needed to address performance gaps.
Make decisions to optimize value to the company based on thorough evaluation of alternatives as well as cross-functional and cross-business trade-offs.
Assess short-term feasibility requests from all countries (where necessary).

Parameter Setting & Continuous Improvement:
Directly maintain and/or coordinate maintenance of planning parameters to manage plans in an efficient way.
Ensure governance over master data maintenance is in place and is being followed properly.
Drive continuous improvement by periodically reviewing and providing recommendations to enhance the distribution network, and by ensuring current manufacturing strategies are appropriate. Collaborate with other regions and global SC organization to leverage best practises and global implementations.

Required Qualifications
University degree in a discipline demonstrating logical thinking or computational skills (Supply Chain Management, Engineering, Business, Mathematics and certain sciences).
A minimum of 10 years of experience, preferably in a manufacturing environment.
